The founder of the Toronto Sexuality Centre,
Dr. James Cantor, is an internationally recognized expert on the science of human sexuality, engaged in sex therapy and the training new generations of sex therapists for more than 25 years. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and professional works spanning problems in sex addiction/hypersexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual offending, and atypical sexual interests. Dr. Cantor served as Editor-in-Chief of Sexual Abuse, the official journal of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, and his neurobiological research on the causes pedophilia and the prevention of sexual abuse was featured in the CBC documentary, "I, Pedophile." |
Dr. McPhail completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan and his pre-doctoral clinical residency at the London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium in London, Ontario. He is an experienced clinician working with men and women overcoming sexual dysfunctions including erection problems, premature or delayed ejaculation or orgasm, and problems in sexual desire or arousal. Dr. McPhail is widely known also for his work with atypical sexualities, including the paraphilias. He approaches his clinical work from a humanistic and client-centred stance, drawing from acceptance and commitment, narrative, existential, compassion-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and behavioural approaches to therapy.
