Polyamorous and Open Relationships
People in poly- relationships do not have the benefit of a wide range of role models and resources as are available to traditional relationships, often making input from a nonjudgmental therapist particularly valuable. For addressing problems in poly- relationships, the same basic principles of therapy remain in play: Each member of the relationship commits to acquiring and developing the tools needed to address current issues and to learning and practicing skills for dealing with future ones.
TSC fees for poly- relationship therapy are the same as for two-person relationships. (As indicated on the main page, the TSC follows the Ontario Psychological Association rate of $220 per 50-minute session.) Because working through issues within poly- relationships involves integrating the needs and perspectives of multiple people, however, many clients prefer longer sessions. The rate for extended sessions are $330 per 80-minute session.
