Gender Dysphoria and Transition Support
For other people, however, questions are all there seems to be. For them, they seemed (on the outside, anyway) to belong entirely to the gender they were born into: They married, had children, and lived their whole lives based on the gender into which they were born. But, at the same time, they always felt that something was never quite right. They feel different from other people of their gender, they feel amazingly good when experimenting and trying to live out parts of the other gender, but they are not sure.
In the media and the blogosphere, transitioning is often discussed as if all they had to do was come out, like being gay or lesbian. But in reality, it’s not so simple. Are irreversible medical procedures the only option? Or is there something in between? No single answer is right for everybody. Activists and celebrities who have transitioned often make it look simple, as if what they did is what all trans- or transcurious people should do. Within the highly confidential space of the TSC, people have the opportunity to discuss, learn, and sometimes just vent about the many complicated decisions facing them.
